It is important to note that this training module cannot possibly cover all the different methods of working in every set across the country.
What follows is how we see the best way to deal with the routine tasks you will face from day one in Chambers. You MUST however listen carefully to the instructions from your Senior Clerk or line manager on these matters as it may vary in your particular set, or they may have a very different view of how a particular task should be dealt with in your Clerks’ room.
There are two main suppliers of the Chambers-specific computerised case recording and diary systems which are commonly used in Chambers and your set is likely to be using either Opus 2 LEX or Advanced. It is beyond the remit of this module to include a training manual for these, but training is likely to be provided in-house by Chambers or via those suppliers.
