This on-line training UK GDPR course is designed to give barristers a good understanding of the UK General Data Protection Regulation. The course covers the principles of the UK GDPR and will help you to understand the need to process people’s personal data lawfully, as well as ensure data security in your practice. UK GDPR compliance starts with knowledge and awareness and the aim of this training programme is to provide you with the information that practising barristers need. It will help you to understand whether your policies and procedures meet UK GDPR standards and the steps you need to take to reach or maintain UK GDPR compliance. Regular appropriate training is part of that compliance.

The latest ABC UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) training module has been specifically developed for the Chambers sector, combining the regulatory and data protection expertise of Jane Sarginson of St Philips Chambers with the extensive industry knowledge of the ABC team.

Originally written by Jane, who specialises in data privacy and regulatory law and has delivered GDPR training to barristers, solicitors and commercial organisations, the course has been refreshed and enhanced to reflect current legislation, regulatory guidance and best practice. Her expertise is complemented by ABC's many years of experience supporting barristers' chambers and advising on GDPR compliance since 2017.

Recognising that regular and appropriate training is a fundamental component of GDPR compliance, this updated module provides practical, sector-specific guidance tailored to the unique challenges faced by Chambers, their members and staff.

As part of the latest review and update process, the course has been independently reviewed by Louise Hickman, a qualified and experienced Data Protection Officer, helping to ensure that the content remains accurate, relevant and aligned with current data protection requirements.

Chambers’ staff will generally find it more helpful to use the module specifically written for all employees working in the various roles found in Chambers. Please contact [email protected] for details.
