Who is this training designed for?
This training is designed for all barristers who supervise or intend to supervise pupils. It is suitable both for those undertaking pupil supervisor training for the first time and for experienced supervisors completing their mandatory refresher training.
About the author

Saara Idelbi is a leading barrister at 39 Essex Chambers and is recognised by The Legal 500 as a Leading Junior in Administrative Law and Human Rights, Court of Protection and Community Care, and Inquests and Inquiries.
She specialises in public law, human rights, equality and information law, advising and representing central government, public bodies, organisations and individuals in complex and high-profile matters. As a member of both the Attorney General’s B Panel of Counsel and the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s B Panel of Counsel, she is regularly instructed in cases involving significant legal and public interest issues.
In addition to her practice at the Bar, Saara sits as a Fee-Paid Judge in the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber). Her career has also included roles as Law Clerk to Justice Khampepe at the Constitutional Court of South Africa, Judicial Assistant to Lord Justice Pill in the Court of Appeal, and positions within the Government Legal Department and HM Revenue & Customs.
Saara is widely recognised for her ability to explain complex legal concepts in a clear, practical and engaging way. Her training combines legal expertise with real-world experience, equipping barristers and chambers with practical guidance that can be applied confidently in professional practice.
This module draws on Saara's extensive experience as an advocate, judge and legal adviser to provide practical, accessible guidance for those undertaking the important role of pupil supervisor.
