Who is this training designed for?
The ABC Prevention of Sexual Harassment & Bullying in Chambers training module was specifically written for Members of the Bar and those at a senior management level in Chambers.
There is a separate module appropriate for support staff at all levels working in Chambers.
Sexual harassment and bullying training helps to create a safe, respectful, and professional working environment while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
The Bar Standards Board (BSB) Handbook views harassment as serious misconduct. Chambers and other BSB entities are required to have anti-harassment policies in place.
The Equality Act 2010 makes sexual harassment illegal, and requires employers to take reasonable steps to prevent misconduct.
Failure to address these issues can result in disciplinary action, reputational damage, and legal liability.
About the author
Benjamin Gray is an experienced specialist in employment, sport and commercial law cases. His clients include prominent PLCs, Central Government departments and high net worth individuals. His caseload ranges from employee misconduct and internal investigations through discrimination, harassment, whistleblowing, unfair dismissal, TUPE disputes, restrictive covenants and employee competition. Benjamin’s wider work, including as a Government panellist, gives him experience and understanding of crossover issues in employment, commercial and public law litigation.
